Our preschool Program
Our preschool day has a mix of student-led, play-based, and teacher-directed lessons and activities for our three year olds. The Preschool Classroom begins child enrollment at 32 months of age, and each child must be fully toilet trained to enter the preschool program. Preschool is the stepping stone to
Pre-K—here, students are introduced to
The Creative Curriculum, which allows the children to discover and explore through play with a variety of group activities, independent play, science, math, and language. The classroom schedule and layout has many opportunities for each child to practice and master their social-emotional skills and self-advocacy, which prepares them for entering the Pre-K program. Teachers complete assessments followed by fall and spring parent teacher conferences. This is an exciting year with planned field trips, special themed events, and visitors!

In our preschool program, students enjoy many of the components they loved from our
Discoverers and
Explorers programs, including outdoor time, circle time, themed centers, and more. The day includes snack, lunch, and naptime in order to keep our students energized, refreshed, and ready to learn. All our staff members for our preschool program are properly trained, background checked, and follow all state requirements for early education. We are strict about maintaining the proper teacher-to-child ratios for each of our rooms and our age groups as set by the State of Connecticut.
