There’s a magical time in a child’s early life when they’re actively discovering the world around them; that’s why our program for one-year-olds is called “Discoverers.” In this classroom, your child will learn through play at this crucial stage of development. Our dIscoverers classroom
Our Discoverer’s classrooms provide an environment for our one year olds (12 months - 24 months) that stimulates each child’s need for discovery. As our toddlers make their transition, they are welcomed into a classroom offering many opportunities for discovering their interests. The schedule provides different types of learning experiences such as sensory, art, circle time, story time, fine/gross motor skills, and outdoor play. In the Discoverer’s classroom, toddlers are beginning to develop their language skills and learning to be part of a group, as well as self-feeding, mastering utensils, and understanding self-help skills. Discoverers B classroom has a child sized bathroom for those children beginning to show interest and ability in toilet training.
What’s a Day of Discovery Like?
Our daily schedule for most of our toddler classrooms is similar so that the children get into a groove and can experience a familiar routine. After drop off time, students participate in free play, morning snack, and get some outdoor time for 30 minutes each morning. They also enjoy circle time and themed centers that our teachers make engaging and fun. After lunch and nap, the afternoon follows a similar schedule to the morning, including more outdoor time, play time, and centers. Parents can pick up between 2:30 PM and 6:00 PM depending on their schedule.
