When our students hit two, they’re ready and excited to explore what each day will bring. That’s why our Explorers classroom is perfect for curious minds and energetic feet! We know kids at this stage are always on the move, and their daily activities should support learning that will allow them to get up and go.
Our explorers classroom
Our Explorers classroom creates an environment for our two year olds (24 months to 36 months) to explore, learn, and grow through hands-on play while offering a variety of physical and cognitive learning experiences. The Explorers introduces a balanced structure of group activities (music, circle time, dramatic play), snack time, free play, and outdoor play. Self-selection or “free play” is a daily part of the curriculum and allows a child the opportunity to choose which center or activity he/she participates in, prompting creative expression and development of important social skills. Our Explorers program includes two classrooms, each equipped with their own bathroom and changing station. Toilet training is worked on throughout the year as children must be fully toilet trained to enter (transition into) our
Preschool 3 program.
Helping Students Explore Their World Safely
Our daily routine in the Explorers Classroom provides children with an experience that’s familiar, as their favorite aspects from the
Discoverers Classroom move with them. Of course, activities like centers and circle time are tailored to their specific age group, helping them to continue to identify their favorite activities. All of this exploration happens in the safest environment we can provide, with our teacher-to-student ratios following the state maximums of 1 teacher per 4 children, and we max out our rooms at 2 teachers and 8 students. Teachers pass a federal & state background check, receive their Mandated Reporter Certification, and participate in continuing education opportunities throughout the year. Our building has surveillance both inside and outside, with unique keypad entry codes for every single family. All this to keep your little explorers safe!
