About Our Schedule

At The Nurturing Nest, our program year renews in August when our oldest students move on to Kindergarten. We do NOT follow the Southington school system schedule or follow school closures due to inclement weather. We do offer a full 5-day program, and also offer part-time programs on a Monday/Wednesday/Friday schedule or a Tuesday/Thursday schedule. We are closed on Good Friday, Memorial Day, July 4th (observed), Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and the day after Thanksgiving. We are also closed on December 24th-26th, and on New Year’s Day. On New Year’s Eve, we close at 1:00 PM.

A Typical Day at The Nurturing Nest

For our infants and toddlers, days are usually based around each baby's personal schedule. When our discoverers, explorers, and preschool students are dropped off, they enjoy free play. After morning snack and outdoor time, the children do circle time and themed centers. Every week, each teacher puts their own spin on our theme to engage and excite the children, decorating their room. After lunchtime and a nap, our afternoons are similar to our mornings, featuring centers and outside time. Pickup time can be any time between 2:30 to 6:00, based on parents’ schedules.
